principal and solicitor
Gil Baron was admitted as a lawyer in NSW in 1983 and founded the firm in 1993 after having practiced as a partner in a commercial partnership for nine years. The range of his commercial skill-set and his dedication to his clients has built the reputation and client base the firm prides itself on today.
Gil personally engages with every new client and tailors a solution that is suitable and cost-effective to their needs using the staffing and resources of b+a. This hands-on, personalised approach means that clients with various levels of demand, in respect of both personal and commercial matters, receive the service and personal attention they need with maximum efficiency and minimum expense.
Gil is known for the diversity of his spheres of knowledge and experience, particularly in property law and commercial negotiation and transactions. He also has experience in commercial and residential property acquisition, both personally and indirectly, with significant developments having gross returns in excess of $450 million. Largely as a result of this multifaceted perspective, clients invite Gil to provide strategic advice on their ventures which consistently adds value and insight.
Gil often deals with substantial corporate clients that benefit from receiving his direct, accurate and practical advice, without having to deal with the complexities arising from a multi-partnership large firm. In addition, his private clients benefit from the same combination of big-firm expertise and small-firm personal attention.
Gil’s personal passion for property gives him an added edge in this field. b+a’s clients benefit from Gil’s negotiating skills in matters such as commercial strategic negotiations, council disputes and mediation. Gil is also an experienced litigator, having managed and instructed in proceedings heard in the High Court of Australia, NSW Supreme Court and Land and Environment Court, Federal Court of Australia, District Courts and Local Courts.
